How To Reorder Young Living Essential Oils

So, now you are a member of Young Living and are interested in placing your first order as a wholesale customer!  Here is a step-by-step guide on how to use your virtual office to place orders.

First, go to this Young Living login website here.

It will bring you to a page that will look like this:

Here you will enter your your username you created (or your member number) and the password you chose when you set up your account.

Once you log in, it'll look similar to this:

Click on "order" on the left hand side.  A message will appear that says "PLEASE NOTE: Orders placed via the Products menu are standard orders only. They are not Essential Rewards orders and won't affect your Essential Rewards order in any way.  To change your Essential Rewards order, simply select Manage Essential Rewards from the menu on the left."  This is a warning that you are building an order for a standard order and it is NOT an Essential Rewards order.  If you want to set up Essential Rewards, you must click on "Essential Rewards" on this screen.  If your intention is to place a standard order, select "OK."

The next screen will be the list of the products:

You can choose one of the purple banners with the type of product you're looking for, or you can simply type in the name of the product in the search field provided.  When you find items you want, put the quantity in the box on the right and be sure to click "add to cart" at the top or bottom of the page prior to leaving that screen.

After you "add to cart" your cart will appear.  If you're finished go to the next step by clicking "check out."  If you need to add more product, then click "continue shopping."

To complete your order, click "check out."

The next screen will ask for your address, payment and shipping methods.

There will be one last screen with your entire order along with shipping and payment options to review.  Then you press "submit" order.

I hope this is helpful when you're ready to place your next "regular" Young Living order!

Do You Hear "Membership" And RUN?

I know so many people wanting to better their health, household, and beauty naturally using Young Living essential oils and products. But the thought of being a "member" of a company repels them. You hear the word "membership" and you run the opposite direction.  I COMPLETELY get that.  I run away from that too.  I run FAST.

I assure you though, being a member of Young Living is NOT scary.  Let me explain it in terms of another wholesale company most of us are familiar with and LOVE (at least I do, anyway). Costco!  Jason and I are Executive Members at Costco. This membership costs us $110 per year.  When we pay $110, we have access to all of their wholesale priced products.  To maintain this membership the next year, we just have to renew our membership by paying $110 again for the next 12 months of wholesale pricing.

Here's how Young Living's membership works.  When you become a member, you choose a membership kit (they are called Starter Kits).  All of the kits factor in a $40 minimum to cover the membership cost (like Costco).  But, you can choose kits that start you with both the membership AND products.  Say you purchase the Young Living Premium Starter Kit ($150).  You could say $40 of that is just to cover the membership cost for the year including some samples and a bottle of StressAway oil.  The other $110 gives you the Everyday Collection of essential oils (10 -5ml bottles of the most popular and useful oils retailing at $163), AND a home diffuser (retails for $98)!  There are other kits at a lower price point. The Basic Plus Starter Kit ($75) includes your membership and the diffuser.  Then there is the Basic Starter Kit ($40) which covers your membership and the samples plus the StressAway oil.

Okay, so after you've become a Young Living member...you may be worried about some requirement to spend a monthly amount on the Young Living products.  NOPE!  Just like Costco, you never are required to shop!  Ever!  EVER!

Now...how do you maintain the YL membership?  At Costco, you renew your membership at the end of your 12 months.  For me, that means I hand over $110 to shop another 12 months at Costco. With the YL membership, you only have to spend $50 over the course of the year to be automatically renewed the next year!  Wait...what?!?  You mean, if I spend $50 on any PRODUCT, that ALSO covers my membership in that year?  Ummm...wouldn't that ROCK if Costco did that?!?  I'd cover my $110 (Costco membership renewal amount) in product in just one shopping trip!  So, Young Living doesn't just say "fork over $50 to renew your membership each year." They say, USE your membership to buy product and if you spend a minimum of $50 over the year...you will have a renewed membership!  That is NOT scary everyone!  That's fantastic!

By the way, Young Living has way more than JUST essential oils.  You get wholesale access to ALL of their products!  Check them out here, but realize the prices you see listed here are retail priced (a wholesale membership gives you 24% off the retail values you'll see).

Oh, and one more thing about a wholesale membership to Young Living.  You can earn a commission on those you refer!  Costco doesn't do that...but I wish they DID, because I speak of my love of Costco all of the time and have convinced people to become Costco members.  Oh know...I just talked commission...I'm scaring some of you again!  You are NEVER EVER EVER obligated to sell ANYTHING!  In fact, very few Young Living members actively sell the products.  They simple enjoy them personally and on occasion share with a friend or two because they talked about their love of the oils, shared the oils and helped them sign up too.  Done.  But you never have to have a single soul sign-up through you.  End of story. Relax again.

Now that I explained what being a Young Living member is, feel free to put that fear behind you and ask away about how the oils have helped my family and other families or how they could help yours! I'm all ears!

If you know you want to start your Young Living membership, please click here to access the sign-up page.  My member number is already filled out in the appropriate fields.  Oh yah, and I'll send you a complimentary pocket reference guide to help you begin your oily journey!

Are You Diffused Yet?

Well, maybe you're not diffused...rather you're confused!  Are you wondering what diffusing essential oils is all about?

I've talked a lot about diffusing essential oils.  But what does that mean?  When I diffuse my oils, I'm simply placing my essential oil or oils of choice in a diffuser with a little bit of water to disperse and suspend the oil into tiny droplets into the air for several purposes.

One purpose of diffusing the oils is to allow inhalation of the teeny tiny micro-droplets of oil in order to benefit from their medicinal properties. This could be using a combination of peppermint oil, lavender oil, and lemon oil to help aid in allergy relief.  Or if you need a mood booster, you could diffuse a blend such as Joy essential oil.  If you want to evoke relaxation or restful sleep, you could diffuse lavender or a blend called Peace & Calming. If you want to aid in decongestion you could diffuse eucalyptus oil or use a blend called thieves.  For mental clarity and concentration you can diffuse peppermint or rosemary.  There are countless oils that are useful for an array of needs. Diffusing the oils is my favorite way to enjoy their medicinal properties.

Another benefit of diffusing oils is to clean the air around you. Lemon is a great antimicrobial oil used to freshen and clean the air. Another oil blend used for this purpose is called purification. I've read that diffusing is so effective that many hospitals in England and France diffuse essential oils daily to keep incidences of drug-resistant bacteria low and to keep the air free from micro-organisms.  Sign me up for that!

And if you have doubts about the above uses of diffusing, everyone can at least benefit from the third reason to diffuse essential oils!  They make your house smell wonderful!!!  I never bought candles often, because we move so much and the movers will not pack candles.  Buying myself candles means bringing them to our next location in our car, rather than the moving truck. I certainly used candles, but didn't use them as much as I wanted to because they're pricey and I don't want to haul them if I don't finish them.  I've read many articles about the possible dangers associated with the burning chemicals in candles and synthetic air fragrances.  Plus, I get tired of the same smell.  But with a diffuser, I can fill my house with Joy in the morning and peppermint in the afternoon!  I can switch between scents as much as I want. If I want a Christmas scent, I can use spruce and cinnamon oils (Young Living sells a Christmas blend).  If I want a fresh scent, I can use a citrus such as orange or grapefruit!  And the best part about it is that it's completely natural!  No chemicals or fake fragrances to fret about. It's just plain goodness!  And FYI, the aroma happens as soon as you turn the diffuser on.  Immediately you smell the goodness you have chosen!

Where did I get my diffuser?  I got it when I bought a Young Living Premium Starter Kit.  The diffuser was included along with 11 bottles of the everyday essential oils to get you started.  I've used my diffuser everyday, that's for sure!!!

p.s. I've been thinking about how wonderful diffusing would be for teacher's classrooms!  On testing days, you can boost focus and mental clarity with peppermint diffusing.  If you and your students need a pick-me up late in the day, you could diffuse a citrus oil like orange.  And if the gunk is going around school, you could throw some thieves in the diffuser.  Oh the possibilities!

Homemade Deodorant Scented With Essential Oils

So, the real reason I wanted to get into essential oils is to make my own products.  Along the way, I've realized essential oils can be beneficial so many other ways.  But creating my own chemical-free products has been my excitement for a few months now.  I think making my own stuff is fun and if there are benefits such as zero toxic chemicals and better for my pocketbook, then YAY YAY!

So I finally took the few minutes it takes to make my very own stick of deodorant.  I was so excited about doing this because I fell in love with the scent of Joy essential oil from Young Living.  I decided to make a deodorant using this scent.  However, the oil is a bit pricey, so I used half the oils it called for using Joy and the other half I chose to use lavender.  I followed this RECIPE from a pin I pinned on my Pinterest Homemade board.  I also used the 4 drops of tea tree oil because it is an anti-bacterial oil and helps with odor.

It was seriously SO EASY!  And I LOVE the way it smells.

The ingredients:  one empty dial deodorant container, 1/2 cup of coconut oil, 1/4 cup baking soda, 1/8 cup beeswax beads (I got these from our healthfood store in the beauty bulk section), 4 drops of tea tree oil, and 30 drops of your choice of oils (I did 15 of Joy and 15 of lavender...for a more manly scent, maybe some cedarwood or just tea tree oil).

Melt the coconut oil and beeswax on a low heat, once melted remove from the heat and stir in baking soda and essential oils.  Keep stirring until it thickens up.

Then pour it into your empty deodorant container and place it in your refrigerator to fully cool.

It comes out looking like this and smells AWESOME!  And no chemicals, super cheap, and took less time to make it than to run up to the store and buy it!  Maybe I'm getting really old, but that's my idea of fun!  I love this kind of stuff!

Again, let me know if you'd like to use the Young Living Essential Oils and I can help you enjoy them as much as we have so far.
